Religious Education

At Weald Primary School, we approach Religious Education (RE) as an integral part of our cross-curricular curriculum, enriching the spiritual, moral, and cultural development of all our pupils. RE encourages children to explore different beliefs, practices, and traditions, helping them gain a deeper understanding of the world around them.

As a compulsory subject, RE is firmly rooted in the National Curriculum, and we follow the Kent Agreed Syllabus for both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. This ensures our students engage in a comprehensive study of religion, which supports not only academic learning but also personal growth, promoting values such as tolerance, respect, and empathy.

In RE, we focus on developing key character qualities that inspire high-quality religious enquiry. These include curiosity, enthusiasm, social intelligence, teamwork, resourcefulness, respect, empathy, and responsibility. By nurturing these qualities, we encourage our pupils to engage thoughtfully and respectfully with the diverse world of religious beliefs and practices, fostering a sense of understanding and unity.
