‘When you can’t change the direction of the wind, adjust your sails’.
We are delighted to have all the children back at school after the long period of lockdown. The last year has presented many challenges to effective educational provision and the key to success has been contingent on flexible planning.
Online learning has worked extremely well for most children and there have been countless examples of creativity and curiosity being fostered in a host of exciting ways. In returning to school, however, children will derive manifold benefits from re-socialisation with their peers and highly positive relationships with their teachers. We will continue the process of shaping the children’s characters and providing personalised support to address any shortfall in their knowledge and skills. As time progresses, little by little, the school will resume its full educational programme, including sport, music, drama, clubs and educational visits. All being well, the school playgrounds and Village Green will, once again, come alive with the joyful buzz of enthusiastic young people.
I would like to thank all our parents for their unstinting support of home learning and the wider village community for its good wishes and tangible help.
