At Weald Primary School, we are fortunate to have a dedicated Forest School area and outdoor classroom on site. This includes a fire area, trails, planters, a willow walk, and a range of other inspiring woodland environments that encourage exploration and creativity.
Forest School is a child-centred approach to learning that focuses on holistic development through regular outdoor sessions. It’s a long-term programme that promotes character growth, allowing children to engage in play, exploration, and supported risk-taking. By immersing themselves in nature, pupils build confidence, self-esteem, and resilience through learner-led, hands-on experiences. These sessions offer the freedom to discover, learn, and grow in a safe, nurturing environment, where the natural world becomes an integral part of their educational journey.
Through Forest School and outdoor learning, we aim to nurture a love for the environment while fostering valuable life skills, ensuring children develop a deep sense of connection with nature and a greater appreciation for the world around them.
